1 in 10 kids in the US lives in Texas, but disparities in access to play, recreation, and open space mean that many children of color and children from low-income communities are denied critical opportunities to grow and thrive. In partnership with statewide and local partners in Texas, KABOOM! is leading an ambitious effort to improve health and well-being outcomes of children by building environmentally resilient playspaces. In this panel, you’ll hear from local leaders and the play experts at KABOOM! about the promise of playgrounds as an effective intervention to support health outcomes, environmental resilience, and equity at the same time.
